Basset Hound Club of AmericaThe Basset Hound Club of America was founded for people that love their dogs and want to know ever thing about them. The club has members from almost every state. These members have access to a limitless amount of useful information. The site brings together pet owners, dog breeders, and even dog show judges and veterinarians. Members have the ability to communicate with not only these professionals but also other members, meaning that if they have a question or concern the answer is not hard to find. The Basset Hound Club of America was started by William Fritz of Detroit, Michigan in 1933. In 1934 the official club By-Laws were written, and by 1935 they were adopted. Even though there were official meetings the club was not accepted into the American Kennel Club until 1937. The club continued to collect popularity. More and more members wanted to join so the By-Laws had to be changed several different times in order to accommodate the growing number of memberships. The last revision of the By-Laws occurred in 1995. Joining the Basset Hound Club of America is easy. There is however an annual membership fee. The fee is just is to help with the cost of the site. There are even family plans that you can sign up for, these plans allow more than just one person in the household to have access to the club. This club is a great way to track events that have to do with Basset Hounds; it is also a great way to meet people that have the same interest in the breed as you do.
