Basset Hound Rescue

Basset Hound Rescue organizations have a home in almost every state. The main goal of these groups are to save Basset Hounds that are being neglected or facing euthanasia. Once the dog is in their care they will be taken to a vet for a medical evaluation. If the dog is not up to date on its vaccinations, or has not be spayed or neutered than this will also be taken care of at this appointment. Once the Basset Hound is given a clean bill of health, it is time to move onto step two.

Step two consists of finding the Basset Hound a foster home. This home is an observation area of sorts. The dog cannot be put up for adoption until the rescue group is sure that they have a good temperament. A foster home is a volunteer family who is willing to take care of the dog until a time when they prove to be ok to put up for adoption. The dog will continue to stay in the foster home until a new owner is found and approved.

Basset Hound rescue organizations, can also take any tips that you want to give them. For example if you know that there is a place where an animal is being abused they can take any information that you give them and pass it on to the appropriate people. If there is not a Basset Hound rescue in your state, find the one that is closest to you and contact them with any questions or concerns that you may have.
